The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic smartwatches presented yesterday are not compatible with iOS. This means that unlike its predecessors, the new wearables cannot be connected to the iPhone.
Samsung also said that the Galaxy Watch4 series smartwatch can only be paired with smartphones running Android 6 or later. In addition, the activation of new products is possible only after connecting to mobile devices with support for Google services (GMS), on which the application store and Google Play services are installed.
Notably, older Galaxy Watch models, starting with the Gear 2 series launched in 2016, support iOS devices. Recall that all Samsung smartwatches introduced before the Galaxy Watch4 run the proprietary Tizen operating system. The novelties went to Wear OS 3, developed by the South Korean company in conjunction with Google.
