Opera has announced the release of a major update to the Opera Mini mobile browser, version 50. The developers are talking about a complete rethinking of the application. Key changes include a completely new user interface with quick access to important functions, more economical data compression and simplified file sharing.
When updating the Opera Mini user interface, the developers set a goal to simplify access to important and frequently used functions. To do this, the home page was completely rethought. Support for a dark theme has also appeared.
At the top of the browser, useful information is displayed, such as the amount of data saved. In addition to the ad blocking function, Opera Mini has an extreme traffic saving mode. According to the developers, it can reduce data consumption by 81%, while in Google Chrome a similar function saves only 9%. As a result, through Opera Mini you can view nine times more content, spending the same amount of traffic.
A unique feature of Opera Mini is the ability to share files without using mobile data. Using a browser, you can now transfer images, video and audio files to nearby devices at high speed through a secure Wi-Fi connection.
