Qualcomm introduced mobile chips with support for Bluetooth 5.2 and tri-band Wi-Fi 6E

Qualcomm Technologies introduced the flagship line of mobile communication systems with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. They are characterized by the maximum Wi-Fi speed for mobile devices (up to 3.6 Gb / s), low latency and advanced Bluetooth audio features that allow you to get the maximum sound quality wirelessly.

Qualcomm Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 technology debuted on the new Networking Pro platforms, allowing simultaneous operation in the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands. In addition, for the first time, they support up to 2000 users at the same time and provide full network capacity of 16- Wi-Fi 6E streaming configuration. Manufacturers are offered four scalable modifications for creating products for various purposes – from home Wi-Fi mesh networks to corporate access points for enterprises, venues for public events and networks on campuses.

The second generation of Networking Pro includes four platforms with a unified architecture and support for Wi-Fi 6 and 6E:

  • Qualcomm Networking Pro 1610: up to 16 Wi-Fi 6 / E streams, A53 processor (4 cores, 2.2 GHz), 8×8 support for multi-user gain (MUG), peak speed 10.8 Gbit / with;
  • Qualcomm Networking Pro 1210: up to 12 Wi-Fi 6 / E streams, A53 processor (4 cores, 2.2 GHz), peak speed 8.4 Gb/s;
  • Qualcomm Networking Pro 810: up to 8 Wi-Fi 6/E streams, A53 processor (4 cores, 1.8 GHz), peak speed 6.6 Gb/s;
  • Qualcomm Networking Pro 610: up to 6 Wi-Fi 6/E streams, A53 processor (4 cores, 1.8 GHz), peak speed 5.4 Gb/s.

In Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 and FastConnect 6700 mobile communication systems with support for the 6-GHz band, the peak data transfer rate reaches 3.6 and 3 Gbit / s, respectively. This performance is achieved thanks to the industry’s first implementation of 4K QAM modulation in three bands (2.4, 5 and 6 GHz) and support for 160 MHz channels in the 5 and 6 GHz bands, which significantly increases bandwidth and reduces channel congestion. In addition, the FastConnect 6900 delivers additional performance gains thanks to the unique four-stream dual-band simultaneous multi-band transmission functionality.

New systems provide an almost 8-fold reduction in latency in busy networks, which significantly improves the quality of mobile games, and when working with VR applications, the delay in wireless data transfer is less than 3 seconds.

Using a 14nm process technology in combination with an advanced power management architecture improves energy efficiency by 50% compared to previous generation solutions. Battery savings are also achieved through less channel saturation and better scheduling.

The FastConnect 6900 and 6700 systems also integrate Bluetooth 5.2 technology, complemented by the latest developments in the field of audio, which significantly improves the quality of wireless audio transmission. So, Qualcomm used a second antenna with intelligent switching functions to compensate for signal attenuation, which ensures reliability and transmission distance via Bluetooth. In addition, the systems are ready to implement the new LE Audio technology, including features such as multipoint and broadcast audio to surrounding devices. In addition to this, special algorithms for controlling transmit power and compatibility significantly increase the range and stability of the channel.
