These Apple Device Will Not Receive iOS 15 Update

Like last year , the Israeli edition of The Verifier has published a report on the compatibility of various Apple devices with the not yet coming version of iOS. According to the publication, in the fall of 2021, even more owners of branded equipment will have a reason to update their gadget.

According to the source, devices with an Apple A9 processor will not be able to go to iOS 15 – including the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which were released in September 2015, as well as the original iPhone SE, which was introduced in March 2016. In addition, the iPad mini 4 (2015), iPad Air 2 (2014) and iPad 5 (2017) tablets equipped with A8, A8X and A9 chips, respectively, will not receive the update.

In the list of devices compatible with the new firmware, the authors of the report included iPad Pro 12.9 “(2015 and newer), iPad Pro 9.7”, 10.5 “, 11”, iPad Air 3, iPad Air 4 , iPad 6/7/8 and iPad mini 5. As for smartphones, iOS 15 will be available for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and newer devices. In addition, support for iOS 15 is credited to the 2019 iPod Touch 7 media player with the A10 Fusion chip.

The end of support for updates is usually due to hardware limitations – while Apple still manages to maintain a five-year update cycle for most of its devices.
