In an interview with reporters, the director of the Chinese research institute Samsung Semiconductor Dr. Pan Xuebao said that the newest proprietary processor Exynos 1080 is already being prepared for release, and shared technical information about the new product. The mobile platform will get ARM Cortex-A78 cores and a Mali-G78 graphics accelerator, which have received significant performance gains compared to their predecessors.
In addition, from the interview, it became known that the first smartphone built on the basis of the new Samsung Exynos 1080 processor will be the Vivo X60. According to available information, the device will be presented in the fourth quarter of 2020. It is expected that the company’s assortment will soon include a second chipset made using the 5nm process technology – Exynos 2100, which should debut as part of Samsung’s new flagship next year.
